Upgrades to Dizzywood
Written by dizzywoodexplorersjournal on September 26, 2008 – 6:28 pm -Hi everyone!
Hope you’re all enjoying the new functions we’ve been adding! We’ve got even more great things coming for you very soon!
Dizzywood has gone through a big upgrade and will look very different later on today! Old time users, don’t be shocked by the changes. Lots of things have changed including how to get to Rat Wraith’s lair. To access his haunted well, you’ll have to travel through Wildwood Glen. If you have any other questions, feel free to discuss among yourselves as you explore and uncover all the new changes.
Prestos Grove will now serve as a place for new users to orient themselves with the world they will soon explore. And Prestos Edge will become a place for Explorers to easily travel from one place to another. You’ll be able to quickly shop for furniture, clothing, and other accessories in the Edge while crossing a bridge into the dark Tanglevine Jungle. Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Here are a couple pictures of the new changes!
Happy exploring!

Learn to Throw an Emote
Written by dizzywoodexplorersjournal on September 26, 2008 – 4:06 pm -Do you know how to throw emotes? Throwing emotes is a new function that’s really easy to learn, and once you know how to do it, you’ll be able to throw emotes really fast!
First you’ll need to assign some emotes to your new Hotkey Bar. As you can see in the picture below, we’ve assigned the number 5 and the number 8 with emotes. This means that whenever I type the number 5 or the number 8 I’ll be able to emote someone.
Now move your mouse over the people that you want to emote. Keeping your mouse over that person, press the number key (on your keyboard) that corresponds with the emote you want to throw. (For our example, we’re going to press the number 5 and give our friends a High Five emote, see next picture)
Yay! I just threw some High Five emotes to my friends! (You’ll know that you did it correctly if you see the emote get thrown from your avatar to another avatar!)
Let us know if this works for you, and have fun throwing your emotes!

Excavating with H.C. Le Snout
Written by dizzywoodexplorersjournal on September 25, 2008 – 5:31 pm -Pierre has warned me against excavating in Dizzywood, but he’ll see. I’ll find him evidence of Dizzywood’s long sought out Ancients. I still believe they continue to roam these lands, and you should too. My research on these elusive fantasical creatures began years ago when I was still able to count my age on two hands.
Papa had taken me on a hike. Papa decided to take a break, eat some snacks and ponder the hike ahead of us. My legs were not ready to rest, so I journeyed on my own for a few minutes. “Not too far”, Papa said.
Pierre was never a fan of Papa’s hikes, but he loved when it was snack time, so he stayed behind as usual and played in the kitchen. It’s no wonder he became a great chef! I remember staring at the ground, kicking pebbles aside, and noticing a shiny bundle of feathers in assorted colors. I picked away some rocks, and noticed they were all stuck together. They did not appear to look like the average parcel of feathers, by no means belonging to any bird.
I’d uncovered something fascinating and unknown, and couldn’t wait to take it back to Papa! I placed the feathers in my side pocket, and glanced down. To my own disbelief there was a rather large footprint in the earth below me. Large I tell you! How large? Large enough for me to lay down inside of it. Yes, that large!

The History of Dizzywood, Part One
Written by dizzywoodexplorersjournal on September 10, 2008 – 11:34 pm -To some it may be a bit foggy, but do you remember dropping into Presto’s Grove upon your first arrival into Dizzywood? For many, that time came long ago, but if you look out into the distance, you’ll notice the arrival tubes that brought you here. Yup, this is what you traveled through!
Little is known about Dizzywood’s exact location, but history tells us that thousands of years ago, before humans and animals inhabited the world, colossal titans called Ancients could be seen roaming the landscape. Trekking along, sometimes too small to notice, were small faerie-like creatures called Sprites. There are a number of Sprites that you can see cheerfully throughout Dizzywood today, most of which are very playful and admire getting to know you through games, and the nature surrounding them. Hearing them speak may not come so easily, as they must be summoned by musical instruments.
Their more wild and mischievous counterparts are Bogies. Throughout the history of time, they have been known to play tricks, sometimes making it hard for Explorers to travel, or misplacing things. They mean no harm, but can’t resist the temptation to be chaotic at times.
A number of the world’s indigenous animal kingdom, such as the many flying and skittering critters still thrive to this day. They have since become very fond of humans, as many of you have come to own them as your very own pets. They tend to enjoy the company of other critters along with receiving treats you may carry in your backpack.
Much time has passed, allowing these magical creatures to come out and welcome us, but we must always keep in mind that their existence now relies on our care for them and the environment around them. Future Dizzywood Explorers that fall from those tubes must know their history, so it is up to you to continue to pass the stories along.

Dizzy Activity: Spritely Spelling
"Some Say that mythical characters are merely folklore, but in Dizzywood they are real! Sprites are wild creatures that often have a challenge in store for the explorer's! Your task is at hand is to go to the Frog Sprite who will test your knowledge of other fabled creatures!"
The frog is in tanglevine jungle (you know the one with the bounce game?).
If you win, you get 250 coins. But a little warning, it was hard for me, but I don't know about mythical creatures (there are no sprites in there, actual mythical creatures), then again, who does? ;)

Changes to Your Dizzy Homes
Written by dizzywoodexplorersjournal on August 21, 2008 – 3:19 pm -Hello darlings!
I’ve got an important announcement to make. Upon walking through many of your Dizzywood homes, I’ve noticed that large teleporter clashing with lots of your home decor. I got to thinking, “Well…everyone knows how to get to my showrooms, so why don’t I just remove the big ol’ thing?” Well, good news, it’s been removed! You’ll now have some extra room to add some more fabulous furnishings from yours truly! How does that sound?
If you find yourself wanting to do some shopping while you’re in your home, you can quickly get to my shop my clicking on the “Go to Home Emporium” button in your backpack. It’s easy enough, right? Right!
It was great chatting with all of you again. Stay fabulous Explorers!
Your answer to home furnishings and everything stylish,
Brooke Lodgington
